Manila is the central hub of fashion for the Philippines. Music, Film and TV artists often rely on the ‘stylist’ to get their ‘image’ right and leave a lasting impression.
One in particular is Niña Sandejas, a fashion design student at LaSalle College International. Her articles regarding fashion have been featured in many local publications and she is also a monthly columnist, writing ‘One Hip Wonder’ for PULP Magazine, Manila’s longest running, number one music source.
When not writing for PULP, Niña is a freelance stylist and photographer, who has done fashion styling for many artists which include Rivermaya, The Dawn, Session Road, The Camerawalls and many others. Behind the camera lens, Niña has toured with Rivermaya and The Dawn both locally and internationally. She has also taken live concert shots of our very own British group, MUSE, NOFX (US), Electrico, Great Spy Experiment, Caracal (Singapore) and King Lychee (Hong Kong) as well as numerous other Filipino bands.
Her photography skills have not gone unnoticed. She was chosen as one of 22 photographers (from more than three thousand global participants) by JPG Magazine to participate in their “Breakthrough” exhibit held at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery in 2007.
LDNmeetsMNL is lucky to have Niña on-board to provide an insight from the P.I. about various artists and bands that are influenced by the British music scene and the current fashion trends they’re sporting. But also find out from the visiting ‘rockstar’ what they love about the P.I.
