Sarah Geronimo was the grand prize winner of the competition show Star For A Night where she walked away with P1 million and a contract with Viva Artist Agency.
Sarah Geronimo was hailed as Box Office Queen for 2008 as’ Sarah’s first movie with John Lloyd Cruz ‘ A Very Special Love’ became the highest grossed movie of 2008 and has generated PHP 230 million. Due to the success of the Sarah and John love tandem the sequel ‘You Changed My Life’ then followed.
In addition she is also Female Recording Artist of the Year.

John Lloyd is a multi award-winning actor of ABS CBN. Throughout his acting career John has been highly praised as a leading man and drama actor of his generation. With ‘A Very Special Love’ grossing more than P190 million John Lloyd Cruz is hailed as the Box Office King of 2008.
Prince of Philippines Movies - Richard Gutierrez
Part of GMA network Richard Gutierrez has won the award King of Valentine and Prince of Philippine Movies. Richard is the son of actor Eddie Gutierrez and his sister Ruffa is an actress and former Miss World runner-up. Aside from acting he has is also an active supporter of Greenpeace.
Princess of Philippine Movies - KC Concepcion
KC Concepcion is the daughter of Gabby Concepcion and the megastar Sharon Cuneta. After returning from studying in Paris she began her acting career under ABS CBN and stared in her first movie ‘For The First Time’ alongside Richard Gutierrez. In 2008 KC was also appointed by the United Nations World Food Program as a National Ambassador against hunger.
Male Recording Artist of the Year - Martin Nievera
Martin Nievera launched his singing career in the Philippines and then led a career in hosting and acting. Since becoming an aspiring male vocalist he collaborated with the likes of Brian McKnight.
Most Popular TV- Movie Love Team – Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu
Both Gerald and Kim were former housemates on reality television Pinoy Big Brother. Since gaining exposure from this reality show, both Gerald and Kim have teamed up in several shows on the ABS-CBN network, and appeared in commercial endorsements such as Bench clothing,
Outstanding Global Achievement by a Filipino Artist- Charice Pempengco
Charice joined ABS CBN Little Big Star in which she finished third place and began to make minor appearances on local TV and shows. Charice was recognised as the internet phenomenon as millions of viewers watched her on youtube, including Ellen De Generes who even flew Charice to New York to make a guest appearance on her show. Charice then received recognition and praises from fellow American producer David Foster. Since then Charice herself has performed alongside David Foster, Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.
Outstanding Global Achievement by a Sports Personality – Manny Pacquiao
Manny is a professional boxer and is the former WBC Lightweight world champion, WBC Super Featherweight World champion, IBF Super Bantamweight world champion and WBC Flyweight world champion. Manny started boxing at a tender age of sixteen and has now been recognised as ‘The Peoples Champ.’ Pacquiao bought a lot of recognition to the Philippines and has recently been included in Time Magazine as one of the world’s most influential people.
