The Philippine Allstars are most recognisable and respected for winning the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships in 2006 & 2008 and Fil-AM’s Q-York Edutainment are a multi-media record company who are dedicated to nurturing talented artists and entrepreneurs in their quest to achieve their goals. Combined, they are an unstoppable force taking on Filipino Hip Hop. With their latest offering ‘Mainit’, they were nominated at this year’s Philippine Radio Music Awards for Best RnB Group.
As advocates of Gawad Kalinga, the Allstars and Q-York Edutainment were introduced to each other in a Los Angeles hotel room. Both fans of each other’s work, it was magic from the second they met. Only a few days after their first meeting they collaborated in the studio to work on some music together. From that session came the single “Caught Up” which became an instant hit on Philippine radio stations with no major marketing or promotional campaign. Like their upcoming album’s title, you could say the rest is “His-Story”.
Their soon-to-be released album will embody true Filipino spirit within Hip-hop. They possess the ability to begin breaking down the boundaries of social class, racial, and old-fashioned negative Filipino stereotypes. With the Allstars’ and Q-York’s years of combined experience in dancing, singing, rapping, song-writing, performing, producing, and many other strengths, there is no doubt that their music will not only be “mainit”, but will be “quality” as well.
Their aim is to empower Filipinos globally, bring awareness to the hope that Gawad Kalinga brings, give praise to the Man upstairs, and entertain an international audience.
“History’s the past but His-Story will last!”
